Exumas · Abacos · Eleuthera

Bahamas

Seven hundred islands and a sea so shallow and clear it changes colour by the hour.

Introduction

The Exumas are the reason people learn to read water. Sandbanks that appear at low tide and vanish by dinner, cays owned by one family, cuts where the deep ocean pours into the bank. It is the most navigable luxury cruising ground in the Atlantic and, handled properly, one of the most private.

Why Aurum here

Distances are deceptive and the best anchorages are unmarked. We build itineraries around tide, weather and appetite — and we know which private cays will host a lunch.

Best travel periods

November to May. Late spring brings the warmest water and the softest wind.
